Garage Roofs Direct is a trading name of Vexallo Ltd, registered in England and Wales (company number: registration in progress). Our registered office is 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom. Our website address is garageroofsdirect.co.uk. When you submit an estimate request or contact us, Vexallo Ltd is the data controller of your personal information.
Vexallo Ltd has applied to register with the Information Commissioner's Office as required by the Data Protection (Charges and Information) Regulations 2018. Our registration number will be shown here once issued.
2. What information we collect
When you use our estimate form, we collect:
- Your name
- Your mobile phone number
- Your email address
- Your postcode
- Details about your garage roof (type, size, materials)
- Photographs you choose to upload of your garage and roof
We need an email address because your written quote, your job tracker link and your completion certificate are all sent by email.
If you use the "Need Help?" assistant on our website, we also process the question you type into it. Please do not enter sensitive personal information there — use the estimate form or contact us directly instead.
We do not collect payment card details directly. Payments are processed securely by Stripe.
3. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Send you a price estimate by SMS
- Follow up on your enquiry by phone or email
- Send you a written quotation if you request one
- Process your payment and send booking confirmation
- Send your completion certificate and legal waste transfer documentation
- Comply with our legal obligations under environmental and health & safety legislation
4. Legal basis for processing
We process your personal data on the basis of:
- Contract — to provide the services you have requested
- Legitimate interests — to follow up on enquiries and manage our business
- Legal obligation — to comply with waste carrier regulations and other legal requirements
5. Who we share your information with
We use the following trusted third-party services to operate our business:
- Cloudflare — website hosting and delivery
- Supabase — secure database and file storage on EU servers, including any photographs you upload
- Stripe — payment processing
- Resend — transactional email delivery
- Twilio — SMS messaging
- Anthropic — powers the "Need Help?" assistant on our website. The question you type is sent to Anthropic to generate an answer. It is not used to train their models.
- Postcodes.io — looks up your postcode so we can calculate distance and travel costs. Only the postcode is sent, never your name or contact details.
We do not sell your personal data to any third party.
6. Transfers outside the UK
Some of the services listed above are provided by companies based outside the United Kingdom, including in the United States. Where your personal data is transferred outside the UK, we rely on the safeguards those providers have in place, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or an adequacy decision. You can ask us for more detail about these safeguards at any time.
7. How long we keep your information
We retain job records, including your personal details and associated documentation, for a minimum of 6 years in accordance with HMRC requirements. Waste Transfer Notes are retained for a minimum of 2 years as required by the Environmental Protection Act 1990. Where asbestos or other hazardous waste is removed, the consignment note and associated records are retained for a minimum of 3 years.
Photographs you upload are retained with your job record. If your enquiry does not proceed to a booking, you can ask us to delete them at any time.
8. Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data (where no legal obligation requires us to keep it)
- Object to processing of your data
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk
