The same steel sheet doesn't suit every location. We specify the correct coating and underlay for where your garage actually is.
Salt air and wind-driven rain accelerate corrosion on unprotected steel. For properties within 10 miles of the coast — or on high, open ground — we specify Plastisol-coated sheets, which carry a significantly thicker protective layer than standard polyester finishes.
Higher annual rainfall increases the risk of condensation forming on the underside of single-skin steel sheets — leading to drips and timber damage. In these areas we always recommend anti-condensation (Drip-Stop) underlay, bonded to the sheet, to absorb and release moisture safely.
For most UK properties away from the coast and at lower elevations, a polyester-coated box profile sheet with standard fixings and foam infill closures performs reliably for decades — and represents the most cost-effective complete solution.
